research like good software. It develops software
for managing data generated by studying genomes
and proteins (bioinformatics), from high-throughput
experiments (cheminformatics), and through developing
chemicals and other industrial and consumer materials
(matinformatics). The firm also offers simulation
and modeling software to help researchers develop
new drugs and materials. Clients include drug
and chemical makers, government agencies, and
academic research labs. In 2004 the company, known
as Pharmacopeia, spun off its drug development
operations as Pharmacopeia Drug Discovery. After
that transaction, the company took the name of
its software division, Accelrys. |
