The firm is developing topical hormone therapy gels that would deliver supplemental estrogen, progestogen, or testosterone. Lead product candidate Bio-E-Gel could treat help women suffering from hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms. In addition, the company is developing gels that treat female sexual dysfunction (LibiGel) and hypogonadism, or the loss of testosterone, in men (Bio-T-Gel). BioSante is also working on its calcium phosphate (CaP) nanoparticle-based technology that improves vaccine efficacy and could make vaccines and drug therapies only available by injection available by mouth or through inhalation.
